INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS for the
Superior-Junior, Superior-2 and Quarantine Heaters
IMPORTANT: Remove top and inspect unit for any shipping damage
Remove 4 X 4 legs used for shipping purposes only
Remove plastic covering flue after holes have been drilled
Installation of gas lines should be done by a licensed plumber
Connect water sensor to Digi-Span. If the sensor needs to be extended use speaker wire or thin wire (make sure connection is water tight)
Set controller on boiler to 140 degrees
PLEASE NOTE: System has been pressure checked and electrically tested prior to shipment.
Enclosed with your Superior Koi Heating System is a 2 X 4 to be used for ease of installation and for support of the unit. Attach the 2 X 4 on the wall where the base of the unit will be using screws to mount it. Be sure to use a level. Place the heating system on top of the 2 X 4 and screw into wall studs (if possible) for maximum support. After the unit is mounted cut 4 holes as specified below:
A. Flue hole - 6” diameter directly above the flue hole on Takagi boiler
B. Heat Exchanger - Cut two holes for bypass (location & size determined by installer) *PLEASE NOTE: MAX. FLOW RATE: TK-JR = 3,300 GAL/HR
TK-2 = 3,900 GAL/HR
C. Gas line (location & size determined by installer)
Fill boiler and purge. If flow is not established, check the filter on the cold side (lower left side of boiler). Remove filter, plug hole to prevent leakage, rinse and replace filter.
